SCRAP DRIVE: The Cortland Lions Club and NEO Junk Removal Inc., will collect metal scrap Friday and Saturday to benefit Cortland’s parks and recreation needs.

Call 330-219-4879 to schedule your scrap pick up if you are unable to bring your scrap, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, to Willow Park. Scrap pickups will only be in Cortland.

NEO Junk will not enter homes to retrieve metal scrap. It must be readily available outside or in a garage or outbuilding. The Cortland Lions Club will help unload items brought to Willow Park.

No propane tanks, TVs or computers will be accepted and any scrap that is unacceptable can be rejected.

DAY OF PRAYER: The Trumbull County Evangelical Ministers Fellowship will hold the 74th annual National Day of Prayer 7 a.m. Thursday at the Hippodrome, 150 High St., Warren. Reserve a seat by calling 234-926-8071.

Cost is $15 per person with breakfast and $5 without breakfast. Breakfast is at 7 a.m. with guest speaker Ruth Edmonds, a Christian engagement ambassador at the Center for Christian Virtue, at 7:20 a.m. and prayer at 7:45 a.m.

LAKE TO PLATE: Mosquito Lake Park will hold a Lake to Plate event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the parking lot of the new marina. Participants will learn to fish, clean their catch and then use tongs to cook. The public is invited.

CRAFT SHOW: The Newton Falls Methodist Church will hold a craft and vendor show Saturday at the American Legion Hall, 2025 West River Road, Newton Falls.

MUSIC CLUB TO MEET: The Warren Music Club, a member of the Ohio and National Federation of Music Clubs, will meet 4 p.m. Sunday at the home of Karl and Jeannine Morris. The program, open to the public, will be in celebration of National Music Week, which is sponsored by NFMC annually the first full week in May. This year’s theme is “Music … Is Unstoppable.”

Amanda Beagle, scholarship committee chair, will present the $500 scholarship. The final business meeting for the 2024-25 year will be conducted by Jeannine Morris, president.
