MOVIE NIGHT: McKinley Memorial Library will present Family Movie Night 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. The movie is one that all ages will enjoy. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, ext. 3.

CAREER FAIR: Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio will present the JA Inspire Career Fair Wednesday at the Metroplex in Liberty. More than 1,00 high school seniors and juniors are scheduled to attend. The program is on how to get a job and keep a job and skills to be successful in the workplace.

AUTHOR LIVE-STREAMING: McKinley Memorial Library will present “I Am Nobody’s Slave: An Author Talk with Pulitzer Prize Finalist Lee Hawkins” live-streamed at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Journalist and author Lee Hawkins will discuss his memoir “I Am Nobody’s Slave: How Uncovering My Family’s History Set Me Free.” This book examines how trauma from enslavement and Jim Crow shaped their outlook on thriving in America and influenced each generation — and how they succeeded despite these challenges. The program is presented in partnership with the Library Speakers Consortium.

MEET AND GREET: McKinley Memorial Library will present a local author meet and greet with Elaine Evans, author of “Becoming Mallory,” 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Book signings will be offered, but books will not be sold at the event.

SHAREHOLDER GROUP: The Trumbull County Community Development Block Grant Implementation Strategy Stakeholder Group will gather information on the county’s community and economic needs at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 45 North Road, Niles. The meeting is to allow the public to identify community and economic needs in the county. For information, call Emily at 330-675-2706.

SCHOLARSHIP: Applications are being accepted for the Richard T. Naples Scholarship. A total of 30 $1,000 scholarships are being made available. In 1998, Richard T Naples Sr. and the founder of Wholesale Fireworks established the Richard T. Naples Sr. Educational Foundation. Already more than 60 scholarships totaling more than $600,000 have been awarded to local students.

The deadline to apply is March 31. High school students can obtain an application from their high school guidance counselor or online at wfboom.com

UNDERSTANDING ANXIETY: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will present a program on Understanding Anxiety with Cadence Care Network at 2 p.m. Saturday. Discussion will be on how anxiety affects the brain and how the brain deals with anxiety. The program will be at the McKinley Birthplace Home. To register, call 330-652-1703 ext. 103.

105 YEARS: The League of Women Voters throughout the United States celebrated its 105th birthday on Friday. The league began out of the women’s fight to win the right to vote. The League of Women voters started in Chicago on Feb. 14, 1920. The League of Women Voters in Trumbull County has a historical display at the entrance of the Warren Trumbull County Public Library.
