Radio operators to set up at Niles park

RADIO ASSOCIATION: The Warren Area Radio Association will host a winter field day event Saturday and Sunday at Stevens Park, Hogarth Avenue, Niles. The event will be at the cabin by the tennis courts for 30 hours starting 11 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m. Sunday. The public is welcome to come and operate with the radio operators and other licensed ham radio operators. The event is part of American Relay League winter field day. The radio operators will have a trailer with a tower on it set up at the park. The trailer used to be for mobile cellular deployments.
POOL PARTY: Camp JCC will host an open house and pool party 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane. Participants will have the opportunity to swim as well as learn more about Camp JCC. All families who attend will receive a $36 credit towards Camp JCC for each camper in attendance. Families that pay their registration fee during the open house will be entered for a chance to win 10 free weeks of camp. There is also an early bird discount of $25 off camp fees if registering before March 31.
Camp JCC is for youth in grades kindergarten through 8. Camp will be Monday through Friday from June 2 through Aug. 8. A two week specialty theater camp will begin July 7. FALLS SCHOOL PLAY: Newton Falls High School will present “The Glass Menagerie,” a classic American drama at 6:30 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Saturday at the high school, Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
CRAFTERNOON: The Cortland Library will host Family Crafternoon 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday for families with children ages 3 and older to work on various projects. For information, call 330-638-6335.
OPEN HOUSE: Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration will present its annual open house 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Students interested in a business degree with majors in accounting, business administration, business analytics and economics, finance, human resource management, supply chain management, management or marketing are welcome to attend. The WCBA Open House will include sessions on academic majors, leadership activities, career opportunities and professional development experiences.
Lunch will be provided, as well as an optional tour.

BOOK CLUB: The Cozy Mystery Book Club will meet noon Wednesday at the Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St. New members are always welcome.
