Howland library hosts vampire bash
VAMPIRE BASH: A vampire bash for teens in grades seven to 12 will be 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Howland Library Branch. Participants can dress as their favorite literary vampire. There will be games and snacks. Registration is needed by calling 330-856-2011.
TRUNK OR TREAT: Newton Falls schools will host their second annual Trunk or Treat 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Newton Falls Middle School parking lot.
HURRICANE ITEMS NEEDED: Manna Food Bank and Hubbard Hello Brothers Club are sponsoring a hurricane relief food drive noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Hubbard City Administration Building, 220 W. Liberty St., Hubbard.

Items needed include bottled water, baby and toddler formula and food, baby wipes, diapers for all ages, adult incontinence products and personal hygiene products.
These supplies and funds will directly support MANNA FoodBank’s emergency food distribution and recovery efforts. MANNA FoodBank in Asheville, North Carolina, is a private, not-for-profit service organization working to end food insecurity in the 16 counties of western North Carolina.

BLOOD DRIVES: The American Red Cross has upcoming blood drives available locally, all open to the public. They are:
• Zion Lutheran Church of Cornersburg, 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
• Cortland Masonic, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
• Bristol High School, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29. This drive also raises money for scholarships.
