LABYRINTH WALK: The Ursuline Education and Wellness Center, 4280 Shields Road, Canfield, soon will begin its 12th year of labyrinth walks. Though the labyrinth is open year-round, themed and guided labyrinth walks are offered by trained facilitators during warm weather.

Each walk is led by a different facilitator, either an Ursuline Sister or associate, with the meditation centering on a related theme. This year’s theme is hospitality, which is a virtue central to the ministries of the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown, who began their work in the Mahoning Valley in 1874, and to the mission of St. Angela Merici, who founded the Ursuline order in 1535.

All persons of faith are invited. Walks generally take 20 minutes to an hour.

This year’s schedule: 2 p.m. June 12: “Welcoming Jesus into our Hearts;” July 21, 6:30 p.m. “Knock … it shall be opened;” Aug. 18, 6:30 p.m. “Jesus invites the children;” Sept. 15, 6:30 p.m. “Jesus welcomes the sinners;” and Oct. 16, 2 p.m. “God welcomes us all.”

The labyrinth is open dawn to dusk and is accessible for different physical abilities and offers ample parking.
