Library to celebrate McKinley’s birthday

VIRTUAL BIRTHDAY: President William McKinley’s 175th birthday celebration will be held from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Saturday virtually. The program will be on McKinley’s early years and how it influenced his political life.

The program will be presented by representative of the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum in Canton and the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. Register for the program at www.mcklib.org/mckinleys179 or call 330-652-1704, Ext 3.

BLUE COATS SEEK DONATIONS: The Youngstown Blue Coats, 6169 Youngstown Hubbard Road, Hubbard are in need of sleeping bags, coats and hoodies, dry boots warm winter gloves, hats, scarves, hand and foot warmers, blankets, tents, tarps, gym duffel bags and new socks.

Drop off items from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday or 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays.

BOARD VACANCY: The Hubbard Public Library Board of Trustees is accepting letters of interest to fill a vacancy on the board. The position begins in March. The board meets 5 p.m. the second Monday of the month at the library meeting room.
