Food giveaway planned today

DRIVE-THRU MEAT DAY: The Warren Family Mission will host a drive-thru meat and sweet potato giveaway starting 11 a.m. today while supplies last at 1312 W. Market St. People are asked to remain in their cars and follow signs and directions. One family per car will receive 20 pounds of meat and 20 pounds of potatoes and other food items. The mission received help from Second Harvest Food Bank of the Valley. Call 330-394-5437 for more information.

HOPE AWARD: The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, Huntington Bank and WKBN-27 First News “Caring for Our Community” are looking for honorable, outstanding. philanthropic individuals to be nominated for the 2022 H.O.P.E. Award for Lifetime Achievement. These are honorees who have gone above and beyond to help or assist others in the Valley.

The H.O.P.E. honorees will be recognized, and the award recipient announced at the 10th annual Wine for Hope on April 29 at Waypoint 4180 in Canfield. The event will feature an awards presentation highlighting the efforts of this year’s recipient to improve the quality of life of chronically/terminally ill children and their families in our community.

During this event all H.O.P.E. honorees from 2020 and 2022 will be recognized. The 2020 event had to be canceled due to COVID-19. The 2020 honorees who will be honored are Amy Zell, Brandon Perry, Holly Welch & Delphine Baldwin Casey.
