Ridge historic home holding open house

ITEMS ON DISPLAY: The Moss Ancestral Home, 1499 Burnett St., Mineral Ridge, will host an open house 1 to 4 p.m. the second Sunday of each month. Admission is free. The house contains items on the history of Mineral Ridge and Weathersfield. There will be a variety of Native American artifacts on display through August.

The Moss Ancestral Home was built around the 1830s.

SCRAP TIRE DROP OFF: Howland Township is conducting a scrap tire drop-off for township residents only. Residents may drop off between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. today a maximum of eight passenger tires only, with no rims, at the Public Works Department, 3600 North River Road.

NILES ARTISAN MARKET: The Niles Artisan Farmers Market is held 2 to 6 p.m. each Wednesday through September at 434 Robbins Ave., Niles, and includes artisan farmers and foods, bakeries, specialty crafts and handmade items.

MOSQUITO SPRAYING: Howland Township will hold mosquito spraying from Alexander Pest Control dusk to 5 a.m. June 14 and 15. In case of rain, the spraying will be the following evening. Residents are encouraged to close their windows, keep pets indoors and leave no food outdoors during the spraying.
