Hubbard to celebrate National Library Week
BOOK SALE: The Hubbard Public Library, 436 W. Liberty St., is marking National Library Week through Saturday. The public is invited to visit the library inperson and online at www.beyond-books.org. New programs include “Toy Lending Library” and “Library of Things,” which allows patrons to borrow exercise equipment, ukulele, solar ovens and other non-books.
There also is an ongoing book sale by the Friends of the Hubbard Library with proceeds benefiting programs and activities.
NILES OFFERING COVID-19 SHOTS: Niles, in conjunction with the Trumbull County Combined Health District, will provide COVID-19 vaccinations to Trumbull County residents 18 and above 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Niles Wellness Center.
Vaccinations are limited and preregistration to an assigned time slot is required by contacting the mayor’s office at 330-544-9000, Ext. 1101.
This is the first of a two-dose series vaccine. Therefore, you must be prepared to return to the same location, at the same time on May 4 for the second dose.
Please print and complete the vaccination registration form that can be found at www.the cityofniles.com prior to your appointment. Vaccines will be administered by licensed medical professionals through the health district. Proof of residency is required.
GERANIUM FUNDRAISER: The Newton Falls Kiwanis Club is taking presale orders of geraniums for its annual flower sale. The cost is $4.25 per 4-inch plant, red or white. This year presales are the only sales. Local delivery will be arranged for orders of six plants or more on May 20 to 21, or pick them up in town if you order fewer than six. ANTI-BULLYING FUNDRAISER: The Mary Eva Howard National Stop Bullying College Initiative will hold an Axe Away Bullying event 1 p.m. Sunday at Fat Axxes, 2790 Robbins Ave., Niles. The event is an adult stop-bullying fundraiser. Cost is $40 per person. All proceeds benefit stop bullying efforts. For information call 716-559-5525.
