Church gathering features animals

BLESSING OF THE PETS: Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel Ave. NW, Warren, will host the Blessing of the Pets at 11 a.m. Saturday. The rain date will be Oct. 17.

Pastor Lizzie Weed will offer the blessing. Park in the church parking lot and gather in the field across from the church on the Moncrest Avenue side while practicing social distancing. Masks are mandated. Take a lawn chair.

Dogs must be leashed and other pets safely contained. Pet treats and water bowls will be accessible. Photos are permitted. Spectators are welcome.

ANTI-BULLYING EVENT: National Stop Bullying is hosting a bowling tournament 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Boardman Lanes in Boardman and 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 17 at Champion Lanes in Champion. The event will be for families and youths.

All youth bowling event winners will receive a college initiative degree package for Eastern Gateway Community College in conjunction with the Mary Eva Howard National Stop Bullying College Initiative.

Tickets will be $20 per person, $50 for a group of three and $60 for a group of four. For more information, call 716-559-5525.

NEW GROUP FOR TEENAGE REPUBLICANS: The Trumbull County Teenage Republican group is open for business. The goal of the group is to bring diverse and politically inspired teenagers together.

Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 17 and be available two or three hours per month. Multiple club positions are open.
