Seeing Eye: Anti-bullying effort seeks help
HOSTING FUNDRAISER IN WARREN: National Stop Bullying will hold a community fundraiser event from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Tipsy Bull, 1931 W. Market St., Warren. The anti-bullying group is raising funds for an education initiative to help stop bullying. The group also is hoping to raise money in honor of Mary Eva Howard, who was a student at Cheektowga Central High School in New York, who spent time trying to teach others about being kind. Howard went to several communities with her anti-bullying message, including here in the Valley. Howard died after she was hit by a vehicle while walking in Erie, Pa. Members of her family and others have formed a group to raise money in her name to help others attend college. Scholarships will be presented at the event Saturday to students from Warren, Niles and Youngstown. The group has an agreement with Eastern Gateway Community College. For vendors and sponsors call 716-559-6130.
