In a directed retreat, a director is assigned to each participant. In meeting the director each day, the participant is aided in noticing the reality of God’s presence and activity coming to trust what has been noticed and responding to his presence and activity. Prayerful reflection, often with Scripture, in an environment of complete silence is the usual setting for this process.
