Children’s agency seeks foster parents
CAREGIVER MEETING: Trumbull County Children Services continues to seek out community members who have an interest in joining their team of foster caregivers. Caregivers provide for children in the county who have experienced or witnessed abuse or neglect.
Due to the risk of spreading COVID-19, in-person recruitment efforts have been postponed or canceled. However, the need for foster caregivers in Trumbull County remains a concern and Children’s Services has developed other recruitment efforts to reach our community.
Children’s Services will host a virtual foster caregiver meet and greet at 6 p.m. Sept. 30. Trumbull County residents interested in becoming a foster caregiver are encouraged to participate in the informative event, which will be hosted on the Zoom platform. Interested community members will be able to view a brief presentation that describes fostering and how to become a certified foster caregiver. Questions may be asked of Children’s Services’ staff members during this event.
There will be a “Foster Care Rules and Policies” training immediately following the meet and greet. Community members who are interested in learning how to become a foster giver or to receive a Zoom invitation for the virtual meet and greet are encouraged to contact Stacy at 330-372-2010 or e-mail Stacy.Ferencik@jfs.ohio.gov.
FATHERHOOD INITIATIVE: A Man2Man Fatherhood Initiative of Trumbull County is a free training program open to fathers who want to focus on their relationship with their children. Sessions are planned for 6 p.m. Fridays online during COVID-19. Participating fathers also can take advantage at no cost from one-on-one counseling and services. For information, call 330-687-4877.
CLEANUP SET: Braceville Township will host a cleanup 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with dumpsters to be located at the old Braceville High School on Braceville Robinson Road.
