DROP-IN WEDNESDAY: Know and Knit TimeBank Network will hold Drop-In Wednesday 10:30 a.m. today as part of a new interactive video conversation.

The program is a conversation with Gwendolyn Hallsmith, founder and executive director of Global Community Initiatives, a nonprofit organization established in 2002. She is the author of three books and workbooks on monetary reform and complementary currencies.

Hallsmith is founder of the Headwaters Garden and Learning Center, an ecovillage and community land trust in Cabot, Vt.

JEWISH IMMIGRANTS: The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown will present “I’m Going Home: Ethnic Records and the Jewish Immigrant Experience” via Zoom teleconference at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Dr. Randall Goldberg, director of the Dana School of Music, will discuss Yiddish songs recorded during the immigration boom of the early 20th century and how they have been transformed and re-recorded to reflect the changing identity of American Jews.
