History program offered online

LIBRARY FACEBOOK: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles is offering Bite-Size History on the library’s Facebook Page.

Starting in June, the library will offer Facebook Live 10 a.m. Wednesdays. People can take part for a few minutes each week to learn historical facts about President William McKinley, his family and his time period.

FOOD PANTRY AT MAPLEWOOD: Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is collaborating with Maplewood Schools and the Ohio National Guard to host a Traveling Food Pantry distribution 11 a.m. Monday at the high school parking lot in Mecca.

The distribution includes meat, fresh fruit and vegetables. In order to partake in this zero-contact distribution, recipients’ trunks must be open and clear of all other belongings and vehicle windows must be rolled up.

The Traveling Food Pantry is a new program of Second Harvest Food Bank, operating as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic to help meet the increased need. Additional dates and locations are being planned for the summer months.
