Help with utility bills
ASSISTING FUNDS: Catholic Charities Regional Agency is available to assist with utility bills that are overdue in Trumbull and Mahoning counties. Funds exist to help with utilities — including water, propane or oil — to help with bills that are past due. Assistance can be provided for one month’s usage. People are encouraged to call regarding past due bills regardless of the moratorium on disconnections. People can call between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m Monday and Tuesday. Mahoning County residents can call 330-744-3320 and Trumbull County residents can call 330-393-4254. Phone calls will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. People should have their account number, their bill preferably in front of them, and the utility must be in their name or on the lease.
HISTORY AT HOME: The History at Home programs to help families of children in grades 3-8 is available each Monday at the Trumbull County Historical Society’s website at www.trumbull countyhistory.org. The next program will be on President William McKinley presented by Amber Farris, director of the McKinley Memorial Museum in Niles.
MOSQUITO SPRAYING: Howland Township is having mosquito spraying from dusk to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. Alexander Pest Control has been contracted to spray for mosquitoes in the township. In case of rain, sprayings will be held the following evening. Residents are encouraged to close their windows, keep pets inside and not leave food outside during the spraying.
