Warren alumni awards dinner to be rescheduled
HALL OF FAME EVENT POSTPONED: The 28th Annual Warren City Schools’ Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Awards dinner, scheduled for April 25, has been postponed because of coronavirus concerns. A new date will be announced. Plans are to honor seven new inductees who make up the Class of 2020, along with the scholarship recipients and distinguished faculty. The board of directors of the Warren City Schools’ Foundation and the committee of the Warren High Schools’ Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame agreed to postpone the event in the best interest of inductees, their families, attendees and the community.
SOCIETY CANCELS OPEN HOUSE: The Niles Historical Society will not have its monthly open house of the Ward-Thomas House or its monthly membership meeting in April. These events will resume when the coronavirus lockdown is lifted.
MUSEUMS CLOSED: Several local museums are closed and may be extended longer than their planned reopening dates depending on the situation with the coronavirus outbreak. The Sutliff Museum located on the second floor of the Warren Trumbull County Public Library will be closed through April 7. The Mahoing Valley Historical Society, which includes the Arms Museum and the Tyler History Center, will be closed through Friday. The Trumbull County Historical Society and the Harriet Taylor Upton Association also are closed for their monthly open houses. The Howland Historical Society will reopen April 14.
