Special Olympics event canceled
NO COUNTY GAMES IN 2020: Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the annual Special Olympics at Girard’s Arrowhead Stadium and co-sponsored by the Girard-Liberty Rotary, Girard City Schools and Fairhaven Special Olympics has been canceled. The Trumbull County event had been scheduled for May 9. The 2021 event will be May 8. All those who already have made sponsorship donations to this year’s event will have their donations returned. TRASH COLLECTION: Republic Services is informing customers that because of the current coronavirus situation, effective immediately there will be some changes in the residential trash services. All trash must be bagged and tied and weigh less than 50 pounds and placed in a Republic cart. Republic will not service any trash outside of the containers as they are trying to limit exposure to drivers during this time. Additionally, in order to best protect and limit the exposure to employees, the bulky item program pick-up at curbside will be suspended until further notice.
