Meet some GOP political candidates

POLITICAL KNOWLEDGE: The Lordstown High School Political History Club will host a candidates’ night 6 p.m. Wednesday at the high school auditorium. It will feature those running for the Republican party nomination in the primary election for the Ohio Senate District 32 and U.S. Congress 13th District. The event is open to the public.

MAKING DNA: The OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology in Youngstown will present “Make DNA” noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Participants can extract DNA using items found in the kitchen. Program is for ages 7 and older. Call 330-744-5914.

MOVIE NIGHT: The Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District will have a movie night 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Trumbull Agriculture and Family Education Center in Cortland. The theme of the movie series held the second Friday of each month through March is “Amazing Animal Alphabet.”

STUDENT ART COMPETITION: Delta Sigma Theta sorority presents the annual Student Art Competition (sponsored by Arts and Letters Committee), Feb. 17 to 29 at the Art Outreach Gallery, Eastwood Mall, Niles. First place, second place, third place and honorable mention will be given. The theme for this year is: “Generations Of Black History — Past, Present, and / or Future.” Eligible students must be from high schools from grades 9-12 and any medium will be accepted. The Delta committee Arts and Letters committee is part of Delta’s Five Point Thrust Commission.
