Brookfield group to host history event

HARRIET TUBMAN: The Brookfield Township Historical Society will have Allison Smith from the Mahoning Valley Historical Society for her presentation of Harriet Tubman who led many slaves north to freedom. The program is 7 p.m. Thursday at the Briceland Funeral Home on the Green. Route7.

OPEN HOUSE: The Niles Historical Society will hold an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the Ward Thomas House, 503 Brown St., with last tour at 4 p.m. Visitors will be able to see Christmas decorations. The 2020 calendars featuring Old Niles Christmas will be available for $10 and $2 shipping. Call 330-652-8329. The membership meeting is 10 a.m. Saturday in the Westenfield Room.

EASTER SEALS PRESENTATION: Easter Seals Program Seminar will be held 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., Girard.

C. Lloyd from Easter Seals will talk about new programs for the valley and all other services that are available to the community. Information is also available at www.multigen.org.

Girard Fourth Ward blockwatch will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday at the center.

MUSEUM IN BOX: The Trumbull County Museum in a Box educational program offers opportunities for classroom programs to bring history alive. Themes are Native Americans, Pioneer Life. Civil War and the Underground Railroad, and Victorian Life. The boxes are made possible by Neighborhood Success Grant by the Raymond John Wean Foundation.
