SALUTE SATURDAY: The Trumbull County Chapter of the A. Philip Randolph Institute will hold its 34th annual salute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 3 p.m. Saturday at DiVieste’s Banquet Hall, 754 North River Road NW, Warren. The keynote speaker is state Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, D-Akron, Ohio House minority leader. The Community Service Award will be presented to two organizations empowering youth in the community: The Academy, led by Pastor Alton Merrell, and the Focus Group led by Pastor Todd Johnson.

RESTOCK SHELVES: The Office and Accounting Technology Adult Education Program at Trumbull Career and Technical Center in Champion is sponsoring a Restock the Shelves Food Drive in support of the Mahoning Valley Second Harvest Food Bank. Items most requested by the food bank include peanut butter, cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, tuna fish, dry pasta, canned soup and macaroni and cheese. Items must not be beyond their expiration date. Items may be dropped off at TCTC Adult Education front desk or lobby, 528 Educational Highway, through Jan. 30. YOUR VOICE, YOUR VOTE: The Trumbull County Bar Association is sponsoring activities and contests in conjunction with Law Day 2020. Trumbull County students in grades 1-12 are invited to participate. Contest winners will receive a monetary prize and an award certificate. First place winners will be invited to a Law Day luncheon May 6 at the Hippodrome. The contest deadline is March 13. GET COZY: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will hold Get Cozy and Create paint program 2 p.m. Saturday for teens. Tea or hot chocolate and snacks will be provided while watching painting tutorials by the creator of “happy little trees.” Paint a canvas using various techniques, such as string pull and flip cup.
