CHRISTMAS MUSICAL: First Baptist Church of Niles, Church Street, will have a Christmas musical 7 p.m. today and Sunday.

HANUKKAH CELEBRATION: A community pre-Hanukkah celebration will be 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Congregation Rodef Shalom, 1119 Elm St. Youngstown. The event will feature magician and illusionist David Anthony.

LIVE NATIVITIES: Fairview United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave. SE, Niles, will have a live nativity 6 p.m. Sunday. Trinity Lutheran Church, 56 N. Chestnut Ave., Niles will have its 50th annual live nativity 3 to 7 p.m. Dec. 21.

LESSONS AND CAROLS: Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren, will have its annual Christmas Festival of Lessons and Carols 6 p.m. Sunday. The free concert will feature the parish choir joined by the children’s handbell choir. Amanda Beagle (Miss Ohio 2004) of Howland will perform.

HOLIDAY CELEBRATION: First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave., Warren, will have caroling and the Elastic Band concert 2 p.m. Dec. 22. The play “Operation Christ Child” will be performed following worship on Sunday.

SONGSPIRATION: Faith Evangelical Free Church, 10585 Windham Parkman Road, Garretsville, will have a Songspiration 6 p.m. Dec. 22. The event will include songs, scripture reading, poetry, testimony and short stories. Call 330-527-4068 to participate.

CHRISTMAS FELLOWSHIP: Lordstown Lutheran Church, 5526 Palmyra Road SW, Warren, will have a Christmas fellowship gathering noon Wednesday.

HOLIDAY CONCERT: Lakeview Outreach and Fellowship (LOAF) will sponsor a free Christmas concert “Christmas in Cortland” 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeview High School. The Cortland Community Band will entertain with holiday favorites. Donations collected at the event will begin a drive to provide the emergency medical service workers in Cortland and Bazetta with bulletproof vests.

GUEST SPEAKER: First Baptist Church, 1300 Cedar St. SW, Braceville, will host guest speaker, the Rev. Fred Gilbert of Triedstone Baptist Church of Columbiana, at 11 a.m. Sunday.

MEANING OF CHRISTMAS: Grace AME Church, 1137 Main Ave., Warren, will have the Christmas presentation “The True Meaning of Christmas” 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

ADVENT PROGRAM: The Bazetta Christian Church drama ministry team will present Advent skits titled “The Gift Is You” to be performed each Sunday in Advent during the morning service at 9:30 a.m. The series of four skits is from the Advent Candle-lighting Collection on Reaching Out, written by Linda Allen and directed by Sherri Mayoros.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Girard Community Swingtime Band will perform a Christmas concert 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Girard First Christian Church, 140 E. Broadway St.

LIFE OF CHRIST: St. John Lutheran Church, 5734 Mahoning Ave., Champion, will have a program “What is Christmas all About” 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. There will be a variety of nativity scenes depicting the birth of Jesus. There also is a large nativity display.

HOLIDAY CONCERT: The Liberty Assembly Church, Belmont Avenue, will present the annual holiday concert 1 and 2:45 p.m. Sunday. The concert is free. Because of the many performers, there will be two performances. For information, call 330-759-6813.

EVERLASTING LIGHT: Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson Road, will hold an “Everlasting Light” cantata 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

OLD-FASHIONED CHRISTMAS: Corner House Christian Church, 6954 Chestnut Ridge Road, Hubbard, will hold an Old Fashioned Christmas with a sing-along and judged chili contest 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Peanut butter is being collected for the Lifeline Missions Haiti Project.

BLUE CHRISTMAS: Lordstown Lutheran Church, 5615 Palmyra Road, SW, Warren, will have a special Blue Christmas and healing service 7 p.m Wednesday. Blue Christmas is a gentle, contemplative service for those who are carrying pain or loss during this season of celebration.

CANDYLAND: Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren Sharon Road, will hold a life-size Candyland noon to 7 p.m. today and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. There will be activities and a family photo booth. Admission is free.

INTERFAITH CHOIR: Simple Gifts Interfaith Choir is planning a performance with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra for March 2020. The 80-voice choir will perform in collaboration with Singers Together and The Youngstown Connection for the YSO’s program titled “Spiritual Journey: The Road to Peace and Freedom,” featuring world-renowned tenor Lawrence Brownlee.

Simple Gifts Interfaith Choir is comprised of singers from Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Portage counties, as well as Mercer and Lawrence counties in Pennsylvania. All singers are welcome to participate.
