Seeing Eye: Giveaway set in Cortland

CLOTHING GIVEAWAY: Cortland Trinity’s Closet will host a clothing giveaway and luncheon 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 2576 McCleary Road, Cortland. Donations of clothing will be accepted any time. For information, call Betty at 440-228-8923.

STRESS MANAGEMENT: The Niles Wellness Center will hold a stress management class 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The program will include ways to manage stress on a day to day basis as well as techniques and strategies to reduce and help control stress build-up.

FOOD / TOY COLLECTIONS: Apostolakis Honda, Elm Road, Bazetta, and Shenango Honda, East State Street, Hermitage, Pa., have teamed up with WFMJ for their annual “Feed Our Valley” campaign.

Community members can bring any nonperishable food item to Apostolakis Honda or Shenango Honda to be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. The Food Bank stores and distributes food to 160 hunger-relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Partners include church pantries, homeless shelters and soup kitchens.

In addition, both locations are also also accepting donations for the U.S Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots campaign. Toys are provided to hundreds of needy children in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties and Mercer County.

DEER HUNTING: Hubbard Conservation Club, 1769 Wick Campbell Road, will hold youth deer hunting Saturday. Call 330-261-5957 for information.

CHRISTMAS SIGN UP: Emmanual Care Center in Girard is accepting sign-ups for Christmas through Dec. 6. Families who are registered at the center can call 330-545-4301 and register children ages infant to 12 years. The center will distribute Christmas gifts 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 17.

Any individual or group interested in adopting a family or child for Christmas can call the center. Items can also be donated at the center.

OH WOW: OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology will hold a Hack It pipe cleaner constellation project from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday for ages 9 and older. Participants will explore circuitry and robotics.
