Courts adopt day for children

ADOPTION DAY: In recognition of National Adoption Month, adoption events will be taking place today at the Trumbull County Probate Court and Mahoning County Probate Court. Waiting children will be seeking adoptive families. Taking part in the events will be Trumbull County Children Services and Mahoning County Children Services. National Adoption Day is a collective effort to raise awareness of the more than 125,000 children waiting to be adopted from foster care in the United States.

BINGO AND CARDS: The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Patrick’s Church is hosting a bingo and card party 1 p.m. Sunday at the church on Main Street in Hubbard. Cost is $6 and will include a Chinese auction, door prizes, a raffle and a light lunch.

MEN OF FAITH: Men of Faith throughout Trumbull County are coming together at 9 a.m. Saturday at the 4 Star Restaurant banquet room, 168 N. Mecca St., Cortland. Men of all ages from the young to seniors will enjoy breakfast by encouraging each other through fellowship.

Trumbull County Men of Faith is a chapter of the Men of Faith of the Mahoning Valley. Men of Faith is an independent body of believers uniting men of all different backgrounds and church affiliations. Any questions contact Jeff at jcline3699@gmail. com.

TRAINS AND HOLIDAYS: Model trains of all shapes and sizes can be seen at the Youngstown Model Railroad Association Fall Open House, noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and Nov. 9 and 10, and Dec. 7 and 8, at the club, corner of Raccoon Road and Four Mile Run Road in Austintown.

The Youngstown Model Railroad Association is one of the few clubs in the country that has two complete displays, “O” scale and the smaller “HO.” Both extensive layouts feature over 100 scale miles of track each.

Take the whole family and join the club for a few fun-filled hours. Cost is $5 per person, children 11 and under with an adult are free.
