Holiday events commemorated throughout county

COMMUNITIES WELCOME IN SEASON: Several area communities will continue celebrating the holiday season this weekend.

In Weathersfield, the annual holiday tree-lighting ceremony will be 5 p.m. Saturday at the community park and gazebo off state Route 46. There will be a Nativity, holiday singing and visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

In McDonald, Christmas in the Village with tree lighting, hayrides and refreshments will be 6:30 p.m. Saturday by the municipal building. Millie Ritz, director of the senior center, will light the tree.

The Fowler Christmas celebration is set for Saturday with events and activities at the center along state routes 305 and 193.

KNITTING PROGRAM: Crochet and Knitting Library Social will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Warren-Trumbull County Public Library.

Attendees can take their crochet or knitting projects and join others who enjoy the same pastime. The program is for adults of all skill levels and experience.

BUS TRIP PLANNED: Jesus the Key Ministries has a few seats available for the upcoming bus trips in December. The first will leave Wednesday and return on Thursday to see “The Miracle of Christmas” at the Sight and Sound Theater, and “Joy to the World” at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pa.

On Dec. 17, there will be a day trip to Sugarcreek to see the play “The Christmas Tree Ship” at the Ohio Star Theater.
