HARVEST CELEBRATION: West Mecca Bible Methodist Church, 1215 state Route 88, West Mecca, will host a free hog roast and game day 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the pavilion on church grounds. There will be a farm animal petting zoo, hay rides, games and food.

FESTA EVENT: Blessed Sacrament Parish, Warren, will hold the ninth annual FESTA! event 6 to 11 p.m. today at the Trumbull Country Club. The evening will celebrate the region of Apulia, Italy, with food, music and dancing and prize raffle. Tickets for the dinner / dance are $60 per person and are available at the parish office. GUEST SPEAKER: First Presbyterian Church, 4 Summit St., Niles, will have guest speaker, the Rev. Rusty Cowden, 10 a.m. Sunday.

LIFE CHAIN: The annual Trumbull County Life Chain to express support for the pro-life movement will be 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday along Elm Road in Warren. Area churches will take part in the event holding signs for an hour of silence.

PET BLESSING: Christ Episcopal Church, Atlantic Street, Warren, will hold a pet blessing 4 p.m. Sunday at the church parking lot.

PASTORAL APPRECIATION: Community Church of God in Christ, 310 Austin Ave., Warren, will hold the 22nd annual appreciation of Elder Auston Shaw, church pastor, 4 p.m. Sunday. Guest speaker is Superintendent Tyrone Humphries of Inspirational House of Prayer.

CHRISTIAN UNITY: The Evangelical Minister’s Fellowship is sponsoring a Celebration of Christian Unity Service 7 p.m. Monday at Warren Revival Center, 4400 W. Market St., Leavittsburg. Special speaker will be Pastor Joseph Walker from Restoration Christian Fellowship Church, with special music from the Warren Revival Praise Team.

YOM KIPPUR: Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Way, Liberty, will hold Erev Yom Kippur 5:15 p.m. Tuesday with a Kol Nidre service at 6:45 p.m. Yom Kippur also will be held 10:45 p.m. Wednesday. 30TH YEAR: Deliverance Temple Church, 1849 West Ave., Warren, will hold the 30th church and pastoral anniversary 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 2 p.m. Oct. 12.

OKTOBERFEST: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Niles will hold Okoberfest 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m. Oct. 11, 5 to 10 p.m. Oct. 12 and noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 13.

BRACEVILLE CHURCH CELEBRATES: Braceville Christian Church, 4387 Church St. SW, will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the church Oct. 12 and 13. Events begin 3 p.m. Oct. 12 with games, opening of a time capsule and photo displays with dinner at 5 p.m. There will be an extended worship service 10:30 a.m. Oct. 13 with guest speaker Mike Derico. There will be a lunch followed by wheelbarrow race, tree dedication, balloon launch and filling a new time capsule.

CHURCH BOXING ITEMS: Southington Christian Church, 3285 state Route 534, will have members boxing items for Operation Christmas Child 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 13 and Nov. 10. The community is welcome to take part.

ICON AT WINDSOR HOUSE: The icon from St. Paraskevi Church on the island of Rhodes, Greece, the village of Kattavia, will arrive at noon Oct. 15 at Windsor House in Champion as well as other local stops. This is the religious artifact icon that two residents of Windsor prayed to when they lived in Greece.

PILGRIM STATUE: The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, which was patterned after the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue and blessed by Pope St. Paul VI during the 50th anniversary celebration of the Fatima apparitions on May 13, 1967, will be in the Mahoning Valley. The schedule of the statue is:

• Friday — 9 to 11 a.m. at John F. Kennedy Upper School Campus, Warren

• Oct. 12 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rosary Rally St. Columba, followed by walk to Our Lady of Mt Carmel, 159 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown.

• 5 p.m. Oct. 12 to 3 p.m. Oct. 13 — Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 343 Via Mt. Carmel Ave., Youngstown

DISCOVERY DAY: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2205 Tibbetts Wick Road, Liberty, will host its annual Family Discovery Day 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 12. The event is free. Yolonda Van Dyne, who is chairing the event, said participants will get hands-on experience. Attendees should take their laptops, tablets and other electronic devices. Guest speakers will be Stacey Adger and Judy Williams. Adger will speak about the Underground Railroad, and Williams will speak about African-American migration. Participants will be able to get help on how to add names to their family tree, how to preserve their family legacy and how to share family history with others. Some of the area’s most experienced genealogists will be on hand to give one-on-one help.

SEMINAR SET: Trinity Baptist Church Institute will sponsor the 26th annual Christian education seminar 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church, 235 Highland Ave. SW, Warren. Class facilitator is the Rev. Edward Cryer of Unity Baptist Church of Cleveland, who will speaking on “Having Greater Personal Power Through Vision and Faith.”

CHURCH FUNDRAISER: His Hands Extended Ministry is celebrating 37 years of ministering to the incarcerated. The ministry, under the leadership of Chaplain Ray Cowie, provides support for the chaplaincy program at the Trumbull County Jail and Juvenile Justice Center and offers holiday meal programs in some correctional institutions. Chaplains coordinate Christian volunteers to conduct Bible studies, chapel services and Christian counseling for any inmates requesting these services. WEDDINGS CELEBRATED: The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown’s Office of Pro-Life, Marriage and Family Ministry is sponsoring a second Wedding Anniversary Celebration this year to honor couples who are observing their 25th, 40th, 50th or over anniversaries in 2019.

The celebration will be held 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Canton. The celebration will include Mass with the Monsignor Robert J. Siffrin, vicar general of the Diocese of Youngstown, renewal of marriage vows, a personalized certificate for each couple and a reception for the couples and their families.
