WARREN SCHOOLS KICK OFF: Warren City Schools will kick off the 2019-20 academic year with a celebration for students and their families 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Courthouse Square. The district’s seventh annual “Back to School Celebration” will include refreshments, games and raffles. Students and their families will have opportunities to interact with teachers, administrators, school resource officers and community leaders.

LIBRARY PROGRAM: The McKinley Memorial Library is sponsoring the following at the McKinley Birthplace Home: Knit One, Crochet Too! 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday with those attending to bring their own project and join others who enjoy working with yarn. Morning Mystery Book Club, will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Select a book in the Bibliophile Mystery series by Kate Carlisle and give a short synopsis at our meeting.

BUBBLE EVENT: The OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology in downtown Youngstown will hold a Make Bubble Toolkit noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Make your own tools for bubble play. Call 330-744-5914.

LIBRARY WELCOMES PLUTO: Talking With Terry Pluto will be featured 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the McKinley Memorial Auditorium. Pluto, a sports columnist for the Plain Dealer, will speak about his career covering Cleveland sports teams. He will be available for a brief time after the program to sell and autograph books.
