Programs on Lincoln set for Friday at fair

HISTORICAL SOCIETIES: Local historical societies from throughout the county will showcase artifacts from noon to 9 p.m. today through Sunday at the historical village at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. Local history will be showcased and programs on Abraham Lincoln will be presented 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday.

AROUND THE CAMPFIRE: Camp Marshmallow will hold its final event 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Eastwood Mall center concourse in Niles. Niles Park Director Bob Burke will lead a hike throughout the mall as part of “Around the Campfire.” Children will also mix their own trail mix.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION: Liberty Community Pantry will be held 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the Churchill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill Hubbard Road, Liberty. This is a change from the normal distribution usually held on the first Friday of the month changed due to the July 4 holiday.

New registration forms will be required for all participants. Bring ID with proof of residency. Call 330-759-0118. The pantry served residents of Liberty and Liberty school district.

FIFTH AVENUE TOUR: The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will hold a History to Go event with a Fifth Avenue walking tour set for noon, 12:30, 1 and 1:30 p.m. Saturday covering the southern portion of Fifth Avenue. The event is hosted by the Mahoning Valley Historical Society.

ZOO VISIT: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will host the Akron Zoomobile 2 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial auditorium.

BRIDGE MAKERS: The OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology in Youngstown will hold a Make Bridges from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Children will explore force and tension on a bridge as they see how much weight it can hold.
