Hubbard pool to hold fundraising event

SUMMER SIZZLE: The Hubbard Community Pool, 200 Hall Ave., is holding its 15th annual Summer Sizzle noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. The event will include free admission, swimming, basket raffle and food. Money raised goes back into the pool for improvements for the children, families and friends.

VETERAN PICNIC: Shepherd of the Valley will hold an appreciation picnic to celebrate and honor local veterans. The picnic will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Shepherd of the Valley, 301 W. Western Reserve Road, Poland. It is open to any veteran who would like to attend. Reservations are needed by calling 330-726-7110.

SPELLING BEE: The 34th annual Trumbull Retired Teachers Association spelling bee 1 p.m. Thursday on the historical stage at Trumbull County Fair. Children age 14 and younger will be admitted free of charge the day of the event from noon to 12:45 p.m. All participants will receive a certificate of participation. BINGO: The Girard FIRST Robocats Robotics Team will hold bingo games nightly Friday to July 16 at the Mt. Carmel Festival, 33 W. Wilson St., Girard.

OUTDOOR MOVIE: An outdoor movie ” Space Jams” will be 9 p.m. Friday at Waddell Park in Niles.

FLEA MARKET: The Friends of the Mosquito Lake State Park will hold a flea market and craft show 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the beach area. Event will be held rain or shine. Call 330-240-3901.

WALKING TOUR: The Trumbull County Historical Society will hold a walking tour on Saturday at Hartford Square in partnership with the Hartford Historical Society starting point at 3365 state Route 7.
