Seeing Eye

FESTIVAL PLANNED: The Weathersfield Flag Day Festival will be Thursday to Saturday at the township park and gazebo off state Route 46. The festival will be 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. The celebration includes a parade at 6 p.m. Friday along state Route 46, followed by a flag-raising ceremony. Saturday will start with a pancake breakfast 9 a.m. to noon at the Presbyterian Church, followed by Rumble in the Ridge car show 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be games, musical performances and other activities. Also taking place Wednesday to Saturday is the 20th annual community garage sales 9:30 a.m. to dark. Checklists and maps are available at 3950 Niles Carver Road.

SAFETY DAY: McDonald Safety Day will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woodland Park where children can see fire trucks, police cars and ambulances, and learn to stay safe in the summer. There will be bicycle inspections and a bike course. Rain date is June 19.

SPLASH PAD OPENS: The Splash Pad at Woodland Park in McDonald will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday. No activities will be held at the Splash Pad from June 24 to 28 due to the McDonald Firefighters Homecoming Festival.

COMMUNITY-WIDE SALES: West Farmington will hold its community-wide garage and yard sales 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday to Saturday with more than 70 families participating. Maps are available Wednesday at 115 Grove St. Call Dawn at 330-889-2753 for information.

FESTIVAL SET: St. Anthony of Padua Feast Day celebration will be 6 p.m, Thursday at the church in Historic Brier Hill, 1125 Turin St., Youngstown. There will be a Mass with the traditional procession of St. Anthony of Padua, plus music, food and indoor activities.
