Museum educators coming to libraries

OUTER SPACE PROGRAMS: Three programs for children with educators from the Armstrong Air and Space Museum are scheduled today at local libraries.
“Black Holes” will be presented at 11 a.m. at the Warren-Trumbull County Main Library. The program will explain how black holes are formed and the basic physical concepts behind them.
“Living on Another World” will be given 1 p.m. at Cortland Library Branch and 3 p.m. at Howland Library Branch, with children experimenting with toolsneeded to live in alien worlds and building a water filtration system and designing their own base on another planet.
The programs are for children ages 5 to 12. Registration required by signing up or calling the library.
DISTRICT HOLDS GREEN FEST: The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste District will host a “Gotta Go Green” fest noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the district office, 5138 Enterprise Blvd., Warren. Included will be food and refreshments plus face painting, crafts, a bounce house slide and recycling games for the kids, along with tours and exhibits about recycling and more.
CRAFT SHOW: Warren’s Martial Arts is hosting its third annual craft and vendor show from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Warren’s Martial Arts, 169 Folsom St., Champion. This year’s fundraiser benefits two of the group’s Golden Tigers competitors, Matthew, 7, and Luke, 5. They will be heading to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at the beginning of July to represent their city and school. There will be door prizes, Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, concessions and vendors.
FOSTER MEET-AND-GREET: Trumbull County Children Services is hosting an informative meet-and-greet for community members who have interest in joining its team of foster caregivers, 5:30 p.m. June 26 at TCCS. Caregivers provide for children in the county who have experienced or witnessed abuse or neglect. Interested participants are encouraged to attend the 6 p.m. training, “Foster Care Rules and Policies,” which will immediately follow the meet-and-greet. A short presentation will be given on foster care and adoption. Complimentary snacks will be provided. CSB staff members and current foster caregivers will be available to answer questions about the home study process.
