Kinsman holds safety forces day

FAMILY EVENT: Kinsman Township Safety Forces Day will be 10 a.m, to 2 p.m. Saturday at the township park. Local safety forces will hold various activities and vehicle displays, including a bike rodeo, K-9 demonstration, Stat Medevac helicopter, rollover machine, fire safety trailer and water battle at 12:30 p.m. The American Legion auxiliary will provide lunch.
SAFETY DAY: The Bazetta Township Police and Fire departments, in conjunction with Mosquito Lake Marina, will host their 16th Annual Safety Day noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Mosquito Lake State Park.
This year’s event will have a wide variety of things to do for both children and adults. The event will include vehicles and representatives from local police and fire departments, state and federal agencies, along with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Special highlights this year include the Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team tactical vehicle “The Bear,” Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, United States Air Force Security Forces, Heather Merritt’s Birds In Flight Sanctuary, Ohio Department of Wildlife and Watercraft, Army Corps Of Engineers, K-9 and Karate demonstrations and other safety forces. There will be drawings for free kid’s bikes, and many more prizes.

MARKER DEDICATION: The Four Seasons Garden Club will host a Gold Star Marker Dedication 1:30 p.m. June 30 at the Veterans Memorial at Point Park in Cortland. The Gold Star Marker represents all families who have had a family member who gave their life to serve our country. RAILROAD CLUB OPEN HOUSE: The Riverside Railroad Club will hold an open house 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the basement at the YWCA Warren Center, 375 N. Park Ave., Warren. G scale trains make their way through a detailed city constructed by club members. Cost is $3. Children under 12 years are free.
FARMERS MARKET: The Howland Farmers Market will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Richard Orwig Park near Howland High School, There will be a Canine Campus with dog training demonstrations.
ARTS AND CRAFTS: An arts and crafts camp will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to June 21 at Grace Baptist Church, 5418 Mahoning Ave., Champion. The camp is for children in grades kindergarten to sixth. Register at 330-847-7577.
