Survivors of Suicide event set Saturday

COURTHOUSE SQUARE WALK: The 12th annual Survivors of Suicide Awareness Walk, a walk in memory of loved ones who died by suicide, will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Trumbull County Courthouse gazebo in downtown Warren. Families, friends and the public are invited to attend and urged to bring photos or signs to highlight the loss of loved ones to suicide. A part of the program will be to read names of those who committed suicide. Submit names to cgrizinski @helpnetworkneo.org. LAKEVIEW ART SHOW: Lakeview schools will hold their annual art show 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the district’s new K-8 building, 640 Wakefield Drive. The multimedia show will feature artwork from students in grades K-12. Music will be played by the Lakeview Ukulele Club and pianist Benjamin Piper. Food will be available from “The Alternative” food truck.

CLEANUP SET: The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber and Girard city are jointly announcing the fourth annual Community Workday 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Volunteers will meet at Stambaugh Park on Moser Road in the Parkwood neighborhood, and clean the park and surrounding areas, including the U.S. Route 422 corridor. Tools, gloves and other supplies will be provided, as well as lunch for all volunteers. BIRTHDAY BASH: The OH!WOW The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology in Youngstown will hold its eighth annual birthday bash from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Various activities, programs and cake will be part of the celebration of providing eight years of STEM education in Youngstown.

SPROUT DAY: Howland Farmers Market will hold a Sprout’s Day 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Richard Orwig Park off East Market Street. Activities will include rock painting, face painting, a scavenger hunt and alpacas from Sunburst Alpacas.
