LAYMEN’S AUXILIARY: The Northern Ohio Baptist District Association will hold the Canton-Warren-Youngstown Laymen’s Auxiliary Joe Turner banquet noon today at the Renaissance Place, 1948 Palmyra Road, Warren. The speaker will be Pastor Todd Johnson of Second Baptist Church, Warren.

DRIVE-IN WORSHIP: Andover United Methodist Church will hold drive-in outdoor worship service with Dan Schall 9:30 a.m. and the Golden State Singers Sunday. The service is casual interdenominational and held at the Wildwood Acres Campgrounds, at the intersection of state Route 7 and Marvin Road.

HOMECOMING REVIVAL: Bristolville Freewill Baptist Church, 2087 state Route 88, will hold homecoming 10 a.m. Sunday and revival 7 p.m. Monday with guest preacher the Rev. Rodger “Rod” McClellan.

INSTALLATION SERVICE: Leavittsburg Baptist Church, 4150 Kincaid East Road, will hold a special installation service for new pastor Michael Alger of Corry, Pa., 11 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Tom Woodward will be preaching.

PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY: Trinity Baptist Church, 235 Highland Ave. Warren, is celebrating Rev. Darryl L. Rodgers Sr. seventh pastoral anniversary 11 a.m. Sunday. Theme is “Realizing the Vision of God to His servant. Guest speaker is Bishop Leo Ferguson.

TORAH STUDIES: “Torah Studies for Christians” with the Rev. George Balasko will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center. The first program will celebrate Sister Elaine’s return from the Holy Land. This event will include a virtual reality tour of the Holy Land. The remaining programs for the series are scheduled to be 1 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month from September through May. The Bible education series is an opportunity for Christians to reflect on the Scriptures using what is available on the Internet with professor Henry Abramson. Balasko is the co-creator of Jewish / Christian Dialogue with the late Rabbi Samuel Meyer of Temple El Emeth in Liberty. A free-will offering will be accepted. DIVINE WILL CONFERENCE: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will hold a “Divine Will” national conference Aug. 25 featuring the Rev. Elijah John Joseph of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

CONCERT SET: St. Columba Cathedral, Wood Street in Youngstown, will host a concert at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 featuring Les Moineaux choir from Paris. The choir members range in age from 10 to 18 and is conducted by Francois Olivier, the Titular of the Choir Organ at St. Eustache at Paris.

A free-will offering will be taken during the concert.

LAST SUNDAY: First Presbyterian Church, Mahoning Avenue, Warren, will have Pastor Rusty Cowden’s final worship service 10 a.m. Aug. 26 with reception at 11:15 a.m. He is retiring form active ministry after serving at the church since October 2007.

HOPE IN ACTION: Second Baptist Church A House of Hope, 1510 Main Ave., Warren, will hold its third annual Back-to-School Sunday 10:15 a.m. Aug. 26. Students, teachers, administrators and other staff from Warren City Schools and other local school districts are invited to service of worship and prayer in preparation for the 2018-19 school year. The Youth Ministry will lead worship and a special message and blessing will be shared by the Rev. Todd Johnson. Attendees are encouraged to dress down in school related-apparel.

95TH ANNIVERSARY: First Baptist Church of Braceville,1300 Cedar St., SW, will celebrate the 95th church anniversary 11 a.m. Aug. 26. Guest speaker is the Rev. Danielle K. Shavers-Honeywood who is a graduate of LaBrae High School and Kent State University. She has continued her education and attends Loyola University in pursuit of a master’s in pastoral and spiritual care-clinical mental health counseling. She serves as the assistant director of the Cancer Ministry at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Arlington, Va.

The afternoon worship service will begin at 3:30 p.m. with guest speaker Apostle Loretta J. Pernice, pastor of the Elim Christian Center in Warren. In 1999, Pernice saw the need for people struggling with addictions and abuse and started a ministry called Total Deliverance that helped those with substance abuse, depression, self destruction, low self-esteem and other internal problems. Through this ministry came Pathway Sober House, which is a faith-based ministry that has helped so many find self-worth, redemption and restoration in their lives.

MEN’S DAY: York Avenue Church of God, 872 York Ave. SW, Warren, will hold a Men’s Day Celebration 5 p.m. Aug. 26. The theme is “Living as Worthy Men of God.” Guest speaker is the Rev. Joseph Walker Jr., senior pastor at Restoration Christian Fellowship.

FAMILY CAMP: Wildare United Methodist Church, 7211 N. Park Ave., Corltand, will hold a Family Camp worship Aug. 26. There will be Vacation Bible School-style music, a game show and food.

URSULINE CENTER PROGRAMS: Ursuline Motherhouse, 4250 Shields Road, Canfield, will hold a Women’s Spirituality Series in journaling 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 6. Sister Eileen Kernan will explore how the ancient tradition of journaling can help dialog with inner wisdom.

MUSICAL SERVICE: Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Way, Libety. will hold a Erev Rosh Hanshanah musical service 6:15 p.m. Sept. 9 with dinner following at 7 p.m. The Rosh Hashanah service will be led by guest cantor Gabriel Fleishcer and feature musicians Dr. Randy Goldberg, Joseph Kromholz and Daniel Shapira.

BUS TRIP: Calvary Bible Church, 4747 Warren Road, Cortland, is sponsoring a one-day bus trip that will include the Flight 93 Memorial.
