Shoe donations help around world

COLLECTION: Signature Healthcare has launched a drive to collect 100 pairs of shoes to help those less fortunate around the globe. Used and new shoes can be dropped off until Friday at Signature’s facility, 2473 North Road NE, Warren, in the box in the front hallway. The shoes that Signature collects will be delivered to Soles4Souls, a nonprofit social enterprise that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world. GROCERY DISTRIBUTION: Deliverance Temple Church, 1849 West Ave. NW, Warren, in conjunction with Youngstown Community Food Center Inc., is holding its grocery items distribution 2 p.m. today at the church. Bring state issued photo ID and utility bill. The pastor is Elder James Jethroe.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE: United Way wants to be sure students return from the holidays ready to learn. For this reason, United Way is holding its annual second semester school supply drive until Jan. 8. School supplies can be both purchased and donated in collection bins found throughout several Dollar General stores in Trumbull County.

TRAINS IN TOWN HALL: A holiday exhibit ”Trains in the Town Hall” featuring a variety of trains will be on display throughout December in the North Bloomfield town hall, 8830 Park Drive. The display will be lit and the trains will be running 5 to 8 p.m. today and Dec. 27 and 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 20. The event is presented by the North Bloomfield Historical Society. Admission is free.
