Italian fest seeks pageant entries
SEEING EYE

SHEPHERD OPEN HOUSE: Shepherd of the Valley — Howland, 4100 North River Road NE, Warren, is hosting an open house 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The public is invited to tour the independent living homes, assisted living suites and skilled nursing and rehabilitation rooms. Complementary refreshments will be served.

FILM FESTIVAL: The 2017 Film Festival will include the showing of ”Bagels Over Berlin” at 7 p.m. today at the Jewish Community Center in Youngstown. There will be discussion following the showing with director Alan Feinberg and World War II veteran Irwin Staffrof.
LIBRARY PLANS SUMMER FINALE: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will conclude its summer children’s reading program 1 to 3 p.m. July 29 with a finale party. A family movie night will be 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on the front lawn with the showing of ”The Lego Batman Movie.”
CONCERT IN MCDONALD: The Frank Gallo Band will perform 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Ramsay Memorial Pavilion in Woodland Park in McDonald. Jack Vasko and Company will perform July 27.
NIGHT OUT PLANNING: The committee planning the National Night Out Aug. 1 in Vienna will meet 4:30 p.m. July 27 at Hartford Hill Winery. Volunteers are needed to help with the event.
