HISTORY OF HUNGARY: The Youngstown American-Hungarian Federation of Churches and Societies will feature a look into history at a commemorative event of the 1848 War of Independence, 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Aut Mori Grotto Hall, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown.

The featured speaker will be the Rev. Joseph Rudjak, pastor of Holy Apostle Parish. Several local musicians will be sharing some traditional Hungarian melodies. Completing the program’s agenda will be several poems being recited. Refreshments will be served.

DANCE: USA Dance Youngstown-Warren Chapter 2015 will feature rumba lessons and general dancing Sunday at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave, Youngstown.

The evening will feature: 5 p.m. Rumba Basics, 5:30 p.m. Intermediate / Advance Rumba sponsored by Bob McPhail, and open dancing to ballroom, Latin, swing and hustle from 6:15 to 9 p.m.

FRIENDS OF THE RIVER: The Friends of the Mahoning River will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Oak Hill Collaborative, 507 Oak Hill, Youngstown. Parking is in the rear of the building. Attendees will brainstorm about planning for the sixth annual RiverFest to be held at the B & O Station on June 3. All are welcome who share the mission of advocating for the quality of the Mahoning River. Contact Patricia Dunbar at 339-719-2337 for information about the nonprofit environmental group.
