Three area Mercy Health hospitals get high ratings

YOUNGSTOWN — U.S. News & World Report has named all three Mercy Health-Youngstown hospitals as 2022-23 high-performing hospitals in various conditions.

The award is the highest a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures and Conditions ratings.

St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital is rated in one adult specialty, urology, and four procedures and conditions: heart failure, diabetes, kidney failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

St. Elizabeth Youngtown Hospital is rated in heart attack, heart failure, diabetes, kidney failure, stroke and COPD.

St. Joseph Warren Hospital is rated in kidney failure and COPD.

“Mercy Health has provided high-quality, compassionate care for more than 100 years and recognitions like these from U.S. News & World Report further demonstrate our commitment of improving the health of our communities,” said Dr. John Luellen, president, Mercy Health-Youngstown.

For the Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, the publication evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions. Fewer than half of all hospitals received any high performing rating, and only four earned this rating in all procedures and conditions.
