Ohio casino revenue falls

September shows $3.6M loss from Aug.

WARREN — Ohio’s four casinos saw revenue slip $3.6 million last month, the second in a row they’ve experienced a decline.

Revenue in September topped $78.8 million, about 4.4 percent less than the casinos took in for August, when they posted revenue of $82. 4 million, according to the latest data from the Ohio Casino Control Commission. Revenue in July was $90.5 million.

It’s the second time this year total revenue has declined over a two-month stretch. The previous months were May and June.

Last month, table revenue was $24 million, down about 4.1 percent from August, while slot revenue fell 4.5 percent to $54.7 million.

In September 2020, total revenue was $71.8 million while table revenue was $21 million and slot revenue was $50.7 million.

The four casinos are JACK Cleveland Casino, Hard Rock Cincinnati Casino, Hollywood Toledo Casino and Hollywood Columbus Casino. JACK Cleveland Casino posted the highest revenue in September at $21.3 million.
