LORDSTOWN – Hiring has begun at Ultium Cells LLC, a General Motors-backed electric vehicle battery-cell manufacturing plant under construction near the automaker’s former Lordstown assembly plant.

Ultium Cells announced Wednesday afternoon that job seekers can apply for several positions at the company’s website, www.ultiumcell.com.

The facility at full production will employ about 1,100 people. Now, the plant is actively hiring for key positions to execute the set up and launch of battery-cell manufacturing. Additional job openings will be posted to the website as they become available.

Ultium is joint venture partnership with South Korea’s LG Chem.
