CORTLAND MOWER AWARDED: Cortland Mower Sales was recently given the 2020 Unlocking Possible Award by Cub Cadet.

The annual award recognizes an independent dealer within Cub Cadet’s national network that demonstrates the Cub Cadet purpose of Unlocking Possible by going above and beyond to positively impact their community.

Cub Cadet will award Cortland Mower Sales $2,500 to support its continued charitable efforts.

Recognizing a need within their community in the fall of 2019, Cortland Mower Sales held the first of what will be an annual effort to fight hunger in their area. In partnership with three local charities, the dealership hosted “Bag Hunger” and encouraged community members to drop off non-perishable food items at the dealership. Cortland Mower Sales collected almost 1,400 food items and filled more than 114 tote bags that were then given to community members who needed it most.

PIZZA JOE’S CELEBRATES 40: Pizza Joe’s, based in New Castle, Pa., with several locations in the Mahoning Valley, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month.

The regional chain opened its first location on Nov. 10, 1980, next to the childhood home of founder Joseph Seminara, Pizza Joe. Now the company has 42 locations in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

To celebrate, all Pizza Joe’s locations are offering throwback pricing dates in November. Each Tuesday throughout the month will feature one menu item at its original 1980 price. Due to the deep discount on items, they are limited to two per customer for carry-out or dine-in service only, while supplies last. Anniversary prize packs are also given away on Fridays.

717 INTRODUCES NEW PTM: 717 Credit Union has a new, free-standing personal teller machine in Weathersfield at 3718 Main St., Mineral Ridge, that will be open to the public Saturday.

A ground-breaking ceremony is planned for Friday at the location with representatives of the credit union, community leaders and others to celebrate the financial institution’s future in the area.

Headquartered in Warren, the credit union is a member-owned financial institution established in 1957. Anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana, Portage, Summit or central Stark counties is eligible to become a member.

FREE WASHES ON VETERANS DAY: For the third year in a row Coates Car Care has partnered with and will be hosting the GRACE for Vets program on Veterans Day, Wednesday. All day long, all veterans and active military personnel are able to receive a free exterior car wash at the Howland, Cortland, Hermitage. Pa., and Austintown locations.

Due to a required maintenance project, the Niles-McKinley Heights location will be closed, but veterans and active military personnel can receive their free exterior wash at the other locations.

WARREN WOMAN PROMOTED AT PNC: Lacie Jakubec of Warren was recently promoted to manager of the PNC Bank Churchill branch in Youngstown.

Jakubec, who has been with PNC for more than five years. previously was assistant branch manager. She previously had other leadership roles at the bank and before joining PNC in 2015, Jakubec held leadership roles in banking and retail.
