AKRON CHILDREN’S RECOGNIZED: Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics and the Locust Pediatric Care Group have received another year of Patient-Centered Medical Home recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

NCQA has six core elements that recognized sites must meet on an annual basis: knowing and managing your patients; patient access and continuity; care management; team-based care; care coordination and care transitions; and quality and health outcomes.

The system’s primary care practices first achieved PCMH recognition in 2018.

PREMIER BANK RECEIVES AWARD: For the second year in a row, Premier Bank has earned the Freddie Mac Home Possible RISE Award for total volume for a community account.

The annual program, RISE (Recognizing Individuals for Sustained Excellence), recognizes Freddie Mac’s top clients across multiple categories for excellence with Home Possible mortgages, which is Freddie Mac’s lending solution for low-to-moderate income home buyers.

HARDWARE MARKS MILESTONE: Handyman Supply of Niles recently marked 40 years in business.

Started in 1980 by Carl Leveto, his son, Toma Leveto, now operates the store, 2200 N. Bellwood Ave., Niles. The store carries hard-to-find and specialty plumbing parts and recently expanded its power equipment and boating / marine supplies.

Also recently, Leveto expanded to a second location in Struthers, which also has seen strong sales. Further expansions are planned in 2021 and 2022.

TRUMBULL REGIONAL, STEWARD WELCOME SURGEON: Dr. Mboutidem Etokakpan has joined Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Steward Medical Group.

Etokakpan is board certified in general surgery and has a clinical interest in complex abdominal hernia reconstruction and robotic surgery.

He earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. He then completed general surgery residencies at Lincoln Mental and Medical Center in the Bronx and Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.

717 ANNOUNCES MEDICARE AGENT: Don Eynon recently joined 717 Credit Union as a licensed Medicare insurance agent.

Eynon received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mount Union and has worked as a Medicare insurance specialist for more than 15 years. In his position, Eynon will help educate members on various Medicare options available and help them find a plan that best suits their needs.
