PLATT TRANSITIONS TO INDEPENDENT AGENCY: Platt Insurance Group, 1866 Niles Cortland Road NE, Howland, recently became a fully independent insurance agency.

Platt Insurance had been a Nationwide agency for nearly a decade, but as that company has shifted to an independent agent model, Platt now will be able to include other carriers in its offerings to customers.

Clients who want to retain their Nationwide policies can do so, but if rates or coverages change, clients will have the flexibility to shop other carriers or fill insurance gaps while keeping the same agency relationship. The change applies to all the lines Platt carries, including home, auto, life, business, Medicare and farm.

SERVPRO EXPANDS: The local SERVPRO ownership group recently acquired three new franchise licenses in north Columbiana County, New Philadelphia and Crawford and northeast Venango counties in Pennsylvania.
