Covelli opening Panera at Cleveland Clinic
Warren-based Covelli Enterprises, the largest franchisee of Panera Bread, will open a location today at the Cleveland Clinic.
The 6,667-square-foot Panera Bread will be open 24 hours and have a modified menu to meet the diverse and health conscious food needs of the clinic while maintaining the chain’s commitment to avoid artificial preservatives, flavors, sweetners or colors in its food.
It is located at 9500 Euclid Ave. in the J Building on the first floor. In addition to conveniences found at other Panera Bread locations like ordering kiosks and rapid pick-up, the new restaurant will offer small order delivery to hospital staff starting March 17.
“We couldn’t be more proud to open our first location on Cleveland Clinic’s main campus,” said Sam Covelli, owner / operator of Covelli Enterprises. “Both Panera Bread and Cleveland Clinic are industry leaders when it comes to focusing on overall well-being and providing options to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
Said Simrit Sandhu, chief supply chain and support services officer for the clinic: “Cleveland Clinic is committed to helping our patients, visitors and caregivers achieve good health and well-being, and one way we do this is by making healthy food options available.”
The restaurant at the clinic’s main campus is the fourth for Covelli Enterprises at a major medical center. Others are at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, and at Moses Cone Health in North Carolina.
The company operates 315 Panera Bread locations in eight states, including more than 150 in Ohio.
