LOCAL MAN DRIVER OF YEAR: Tom “T.J.” McGlynn of Hubbard, a driver for Anderson Coach & Travel, was recently named 2020 American Bus Association Motorcoach Driver of the Year. He was selected from more than 70 nominees.
McGlynn is the second person to receive the award, which was created last year to recognize drivers who go above and beyond their duties providing safe travels to passengers across the nation.
With more than 2 million miles logged, McGlynn does not have a single moving violation during his 36 years as a motorcoach operator for Anderson. Also, the company has received more than 300 requests from customers for Tom to be their driver in the last two years alone.
McGlynn also has won several company awards for being a skilled driver.
PHOENIX ACQUIRES TUDOR: Phoenix Rehabilitation and Health Services recently announced the acquisition of Youngstown-based TuDor Physical Therapy, which becomes Phoenix’s first group of clinics in Ohio.
The acquisition brings Phoenix’s number of clinics to 117 across the U.S.
The 10 TuDor outpatient clinics will continue to provide therapy services to the entire community. It has clinics in Austintown, Boardman, Columbiana, Cornersburg, Newton Falls, Poland, Salem and Warren.

BRITE ADDS TO STAFF: BRITE Energy Innovators in downtown Warren recently hired Daniel Sylak as marketing and events specialist.
He joined BRITE shortly after graduating from Youngstown State University with a degree in business administration. He was the organization’s first marketing intern.
In the past, Sylak held roles as marketing intern at the Youngstown Letter Shop and as the marketing and advertising intern in the office of STEM Professional Services at YSU’s College of STEM.
BRITE is the only energy incubator in Ohio.
AKRON CHILDREN’S MV ADDS SURGEON: Pediatric surgeon, Dr. Douglas Potoka, has joined Akron Children’s Hospital and will treat patients at the Beeghly Campus, 6505 Market St.
Prior to joining Akron Children’s, Potoka was an attending surgeon at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He also has been an associate professor of surgery at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr. Potoka lives in the Pittsburgh area with his wife and three children.
