Wagering at Valley racino took a dip in November
AUSTINTOWN — Wagering on video lottery terminals at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course slumped in November after an October that was up after steady declines the previous two months.
Players wagered $104.4 million credits, down about $7 million from the $111.3 million credits played in October, according to the Ohio Lottery Commission, which oversees video lottery terminals in Ohio.
Bettors wagered $109.1 million in September, $113.4 million in August and $115.7 million in July.
Credits won last month were $92.8 million, down $6 million from October, and the facility posted a net win of $10 million, about $800,000 less than October.
The percent payout was 90.4 and the win per day was $303, down $15 from October. There was an average 1,102 VLTs on the gaming floor both months.
In comparison, November 2018 posted $91.5 million in credits played, $81 million in credits won and a net win of $9 million. The percent payout was 90, there was an average of 1,100 betting machines on the floor and the win per day was $275.
Of the net winnings in November, $6.6 million went to Penn National Gaming Inc. of Wyomissing, Pa., which operates the racino, $3.3 million to the lottery commission and $33,355 to problem gambling services.
Last month at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway, also owned by Penn National, $106.9 million in credits were played, $94.9 million in credits were won and the net win was $9.6 million compared to $111.5 million, $99,6 million and $9.9 million in October.
The percent payout was 90.8, down from 91.1 percent, and the VLT win per day was $312, down $14 from October. There was an average 1,036 VLTs on the gaming floor in November, down from 1,074 the previous month.
For November 2018, $91.5 million in credits were played, $81.5 million in credits were won and the net win was $8.7 million. The percent payout 90, the VLT per day win was $273 and the average number of VLTs on the floor was 1,073.
At Ohio’s seven facilities with VLTs last month, bettors played $999.2 million credits, won $890.9 million in credits and the net win was $90.7 million. The percent payout was 90.9 with a VLT win per day of $263. There was an average of 11,515 machines in play.
In October, $1 billion was wagered, $899.1 million in credits were won and there was a net win of $90.3 million. The percent payout was 91, the per day VLT win was $252 and there were an average of 11,574 VLTs in play.
Last month, $60 million was given to operators, $20 million to the lottery commission and $301,583 to problem gambling services.
