Local gas prices per gallon below NEO average

WARREN — Gas prices this week in the Warren / Youngstown and Niles areas are well below the per gallon average for the rest of northeast Ohio, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

The average price in Warren / Youngstown is $2.54 per gallon, which is 11 cents less than the average $2.65 across the region. The price in Niles is $2.50 per gallon, which is 15 cents less than the region.

The region’s price fell 2 cents this week from $2.67 per gallon the week of July 1. It’s down 9 cents from the average $2.74 for the week of July 9 last year, according to AAA.

Across the U.S., state gas prices averages have increased causing the national average to rise nearly 10 cents to $2.75 per gallon.
