5K ON THE RUNWAY: The 2nd annual 5K on the Runway will be 8 a.m. July 6 at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and the 910th Airlift Wing. It is sponsored by the Youngstown Air Reserve Base Community Council.

Proceeds will benefit the future of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station via the community council and Eastern Ohio Military Affairs Commission, an advocacy group under the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber.

To sign up, go to https://regis ter.chronotrack.com/r/47658. The cost is $35 per runner and will include a T-shirt, medal, pizza and water. Registration begins at 7 a.m.

Day of registration will be considered, but only individuals who sign up prior to the deadline will be guaranteed a T-shirt and medal. Runners and walkers will have two hours to complete the event. Strollers are not allowed due to security restrictions.

D.C. FLY-IN SPOTS AVAILABLE: There is still time to register to participate in the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber’s Washington, D.C., fly-in June 19-20. Issues to be addressed include attracting a missile defense site to the Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center near Newton Falls, protecting and growing the Youngstown Air Reserve Station and revitalizing the Mahoning River.

The costs are $750, which includes full slate of activities: keynote speakers, meals, receptions, open bars and ground transportation; and $1,000, which includes full slate of activities and one night at Hyatt House: The Wharf.

VISTA AST, LLC BOUGHT: Palmer Hamilton LLC, of Elkhorn, Wis., a leading designer and manufacturer of turn-key educational dining and learning environments, has acquired a majority position in Vista AST, LLC of Youngstown.

Vista’s flagship product is the INVENTORcloud Program, which provides curriculum and educational support for Fab Labs, STEAM Labs and Innovation Labs in the educational market throughout the U.S. INVENTORcloud offers problem-based learning that uses equipment such as 3-D printers and laser cutters, along with software design tools.

PLUMBING FIRM PICKED FOR McDONALD’S: Komar Anchor Plumbing and Drain Service has been picked to complete the plumbing in the construction of a new McDonald’s restaurant on U.S. Route 224 in Canfield.

Komar will do the plumbing from the ground up.

YSU GRADS RECOGNIZED: Five students at Youngstown State University who received master’s degrees in accountancy this month are recipients of SAP Appreciation Awards.

Christopher Hammond, Amanda Snowden, Marc Centofanti, Sarah Mathews and Sara Salman were given the awards. The award is given for satisfactory completion of a program of study by the SAP product portfolio offered by YSU.

BANK NAMES TOP OFFICIAL: Deborah McIntosh of Kinsman has been named assistant vice president and controller of Andover Bank.

She began her career with Andover Bank in September 2015, bringing more than 15 years of accounting experience to her new role. A certified public accountant, McIntosh is a graduate of Christopher Newport University with degrees in business administration and finance, and also holds an accounting degree from Slippery Rock University.

McIntosh is married with two grown children.
