Gunman shot boy twice in head, document states

STRUTHERS — A criminal complaint filed today in Struthers Municipal Court alleges that Kimonie Bryant, 24, the suspect in Monday shootings that left a 4-year-old boy dead, aimed a gun at the child’s head and fired two shots at the top of his head.

His mother covered the boy and begged the gunman not to shoot him, the complaint states.

Bryant appeared for arraignment this afternoon in the court. He did not enter a plea to the felony and he is not eligible for bond. A court-appointed attorney is to be named for him.

Bryant is in the Mahoning County jail without bond, facing an aggravated murder charge. He turned himself in to U.S. Marshal’s service about 8 p.m. Monday — roughly 18 hours after he is accused of barging into the 111 Perry St. house and shooting four adults and fatally shooting Rowan Sweeney.

The four injured adults are Alexis Schneider, 22, of Struthers, the boy’s mother, whom the complaint said identified Bryant as the shooter from a photo lineup shown to her in the hospital; Cassandra Marsicola, 20, of Campbell, who called 9-1-1; Yarnell Green Jr., 30, of Youngstown; and Andre McCoy Jr.,
