Youngstown plans Pride event downtown Saturday
Pride Youngstown will be celebrated Saturday downtown at the Phelps Street Gateway.
This year’s lineup is curated by Rust Belt Theater Company founder Robert Dennick Joki and will include entertainers, singers, drag artists and local talent
Festivities start with a parade at noon, followed by opening remarks, a prayer, the National Anthem and a moment of silence at 12:30 p.m.
The band The Scenic Route will perform at 1 and 3 p.m. Programming also includes a Drag Royalty Spotlight at 2 p.m., the improv drag show “Who’s Drag Is It Anyway?” at 4 p.m., a live singer showcase at 5 p.m., a local drag showcase at 6 p.m. and The Miss Americans at 7 p.m.
The city’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area will be active during the event.
Pride Youngstown runs until 9 p.m., and admission is free.
